The Blue Ridge Electric Member- ship Cooperative (BREMCO) at least lights its own lot with sky-friendly lighting. These full cutoff shoebox design fixtures provide good light while protecting the night sky.

Why can't they do the same for their customers? BREMCO
provides some of the bad fixtures seen on streets and private businesses, including dusk-to-dawn "security" lights and glaring floodlights in parking lots.
