Athens is cleaning up its appearance in preparation for the 2004 Olympic games. That includes removing a blight of rooftop bill-boards as shown above in this photo from the AP. Note the flock of up-pointed floodlights (at lower right), that will also come down! There are an estimaged 10,000 signs to be removed (they are illegal anyway). That must mean millions of lumens of sky lighting gone as well!
